The Senator representing Kogi West district in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, has been reportedly attacked by armed men in Gwagwalada area of Abuja. It reported that Senator Melaye was on his way to Lokoja for a court sitting in a case of alleged arms running brought against him by the Police when the incident occurred on Thursday morning. To recognise and appreciate Nigerians in the diaspora for their contributions to national development, the federal government has set aside July 25 as Diaspora Day. The Federal Government has declared 25th July of every year as Diaspora Day, specifically to recognize and appraise Nigerians in the Diaspora on their contributions to national development.
