Sen. Victor Lar Congratulates Sen. Makarfi, Says Supreme Court Judgement Is the Beginning of a Transformation Process

Senator Victor Lar has congratulated the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on their victory at the Supreme Court yesterday.

Reacting to the judgement shortly after the delivery of the judgement by the five-man panel of Justices of the apex court headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen, Sen. Victor Lar through his media aide forwarded a statement to our correspondence emphasizing the importance of the judgement stating:

"It is my pleasure to congratulate the Senator Makarfi led National Caretaker Committee on their victory at the Supreme Court earlier today. I also congratulate our great party -PDP – for successfully resolving her leadership crisis through this timely judgement.
I must clearly state that, this is the beginning of a process. The judgement has set Nigeria on a more rewarding and democratic lane of political progress, each time there is a crisis in the PDP, Nigerians are always at the receiving end, and this has been the reason for the unprecedented hardship Nigerians have been going through. This victory has set us in the right direction, it is indeed the victory of the masses.

I acknowledge the good spirit with which the Ali Modu Sheriff group received the judgement, this shows a high level of maturity and respect for the rule of law in our great party, i enjoin all party supporters to join hands with the party leadership as we change this tragic change in the country.
However, the gubernatorial ambition of Sen. Victor Lar has gained popularity in the state as posts and declarations has been flying round town by his supporters, this declarations were met with an amazing level of acceptance by people in the state and members of his party, but all efforts to confirm the Senator’s gubernatorial ambition was to no avail. One thing remain certain, Senator Victor Lar will be a strong gubernatorial contender on the Plateau under the PDP, come 2019.

BAALE OF SHANGISHA SUSPENDED FOR FAKING KIDNAP

L agos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Thursday approved the immediate suspension of the Baale of Shangisha in Magodo, Chief Yusuf Ogundare for faking his kidnap which allegedly took place on July 5 along Center for Management Development (CMD) Road in Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of the State. In a memo with reference number OLGAS.83/S./Vol.1 dated July 13, 2017 addressed to the Sole Administrator of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA and signed by the State’s Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Hon Teslim Folami, Governor Ambode directed Ogundare to stop parading himself henceforth as the Baale of the community till further notice.
